Inter Stun Barcelona in 7-6 Thriller – PSG, Arsenal Set for High-Stakes Clash Tonight
Inter Milan have booked their place in the UEFA Champions League final after a breathtaking 4-3 win over Barcelona at the San Siro on Tuesday night, sealing a 7-6 aggregate victory in one of the most dramatic semi-final ties in recent memory.
The Italians looked in control with first-half goals from Lautaro Martínez and Hakan Çalhanoğlu, but Barcelona came roaring back. Eric García and Dani Olmo struck to level the tie before Raphinha’s late goal flipped the aggregate scoreline in Barcelona’s favour. But Francesco Acerbi’s stoppage-time equaliser pushed the tie into extra time, where Davide Frattesi emerged as the hero, firing Inter into their first Champions League final since 2010.
Inter’s veteran goalkeeper Yann Sommer was immense across both legs, making a total of 14 crucial saves and earning widespread plaudits for his performance.
The Nerazzurri will now await the winner of tonight’s massive second-leg showdown between Paris Saint-Germain and Arsenal in Paris.
PSG take a slender 1-0 advantage into the clash at the Parc des Princes, thanks to Ousmane Dembélé’s early strike in the first leg at the Emirates. Arsenal dominated possession but failed to find the net, and now face an uphill task away from home.
Thomas Partey is expected to return to the Gunners’ starting lineup, while PSG are sweating on the fitness of Dembélé after he picked up a hamstring concern.
Kick-off is at 8:00pm (BST), and fans can expect a fierce tactical battle with a place in the final on the line.
The 2025 UEFA Champions League final takes place on May 31 at the Allianz Arena in Munich.
